The royal vault is not the final resting place of Elizabeth II. This Monday night a private burial service was held for the royal family and the queen was transferred to the chapel of King George VI. There, the queen’s coffin joins those of her parents, King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, (the queen mother), and those of her husband, Prince Philip, to whom she was married for over 73 years.
