The Russians are exploring the details of the “Storm Shadow” missile after it fell into their hands

Russia – Russian soldiers were able to seize a model in good technical condition of the long-range, ultra-precise Storm Shadow missile.

It was delivered to a laboratory, where specialists disassembled it and examined its pros and cons. It turned out that the internal design of the Storm Shadow missile does not differ in principle from its Russian counterparts.

The former commander of air defenses in the Special Forces Command of the Russian Air Force, military expert Sergei Khrulyov, said that dismantling the missile is very useful in any case.

He explained that the location of the autopilot, radio detonator and explosives in each missile does not differ. But the materials they are made from and the technologies used can be interesting. He pointed out that the specialists will definitely focus on this when they study the English missile’s design in detail.

It is noteworthy that Storm Shadow is a British, French, and Italian long-range missile from the category of “cruise” missiles that is launched from the air (air-to-surface), and following launching the missile it cannot be directed.
The missile weighs 1,300 kilograms, is 5.1 meters long and 0.7 meters in diameter. The combat warhead weighs 450 kilograms, has a range of 300 kilometers and a speed of 1,000 kilometers per hour. The cost of one missile is 790 thousand pounds sterling. These missiles have been adapted to some Ukrainian field bombers and fighters, such as the Su-25 and others.
