The second deepest blue hole in the world has been discovered in the Yucatan, what is it?

This kind of phenomenon has developed during the last Ice Age when sea level was more than 100 meters lower than today.

As simply explained Live Scienceinitially it was to be a limestone cave eventually flooded, 11,000 years ago when the ice melted, then submerged by the rising waters. The ceiling then collapsed following the action of the water which ate away the limestone and put pressure on it, to form a sea cave, a blue hole.
