It took around two years, and now the step has been taken: the state of Salzburg will become a shareholder of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences on September 1st. The relevant resolutions were passed at the General Assembly on Friday, the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Labor announced. There are now three equally strong partners. The share capital is increased from 700,000 euros to 1.05 million euros. “The state was always an important player, even when it was founded, co-financed many courses and was a major sponsor, especially in the health sector. The relationship was always close. Now there was a clear desire to take on even more responsibility,” says AK director Cornelia Schmidjell.

The beginnings of the FH go back to 1995, when Techno-Z Itzling and Kuchl started with two courses and not even 100 students. The FH now has 3,200 students, 30 courses and more than 400 employees.
