Linz – In Upper Austria, low-income families are to receive a “Christmas family allowance” of 100 euros per child before Christmas. Payment is made automatically for families who have applied for an energy cost subsidy, housing allowance or the housing and energy cost bonus. An application is not necessary. According to the state’s calculations, around 52,000 families are eligible, the “Oberösterreichische Nachrichten” (OÖN) reported on Saturday.
