Although the famous Tour de France has been run since the beginning of the 20th century, the first Czech competitor, who was still Czechoslovak at the time, took part in it only in 1987. Probably only cycling experts will remember the name of Květoslav Palov, who emigrated in the 1980s and soon following his premiere participation in the Stará dama ended his career. “Please, does anyone still remember this?” laughed the 60-year-old former rider in an interview for the WeLoveCycling.cz website.
