Caution. Over the next few weeks, or even months, SMS scam attempts might increase in Switzerland. Because currently, nearly 500 million phone numbers, a priori linked to WhatsApp, are for sale on the darknet. This case directly echoes a fine imposed on Monday on Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, for not having sufficiently protected the data of its users.
