The 38-year-old Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo has entered the Guinness Book of Records as the highest paid athlete in 2023. According to Forbes, the footballer’s earnings amounted to $136 million, while $46 million of this amount he earned from sports.
The top five also included Argentine football player Lionel Messi with an annual income of $130 million, French football player Kylian Mbappe ($120 million), Los Angeles Lakers basketball player LeBron James ($119 million), Mexican boxer Saul Alvarez ($110 million). The highest paid tennis players are Roger Federer ($95.1 million) and Serena Williams ($45.3 million).
Ronaldo currently plays for the Saudi Arabian club An-Nasr and is also part of the Portuguese national team.
