Suleman Dawood, only 19 years old, was one of the five fatalities left by the tragic expedition of the Titan submersible, towards the remains of the Titanic, in the depths of the Atlantic.

He was the youngest of the crew and accompanied his father, the millionaire Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood. However, the heir was not convinced to go, but an emotional reason was enough to decide.

According to what his aunt, Azmeh Dawood, told NBC News, Suleman had told another family member that he felt “terrified” at the idea of descending 3,800 meters under the sea. He had admitted that he was “not ready.”

Despite this, Suleman drew strength from the love he felt for his father, as it coincided with Father’s Day weekend and he knew that this expedition was a dream of his father, a declared fan of the Titanic story.

“Catastrophic” implosion

The Titan, from the company OceanGate Expeditionsdisappeared on Sunday June 18 following beginning his journey to the remains of the sunken ocean liner in 1912. Since then, a search once morest time began, since the oxygen he was carrying would only last until Thursday morning.

However, another hypothesis was already around among the tracking teams and predicted a fatal outcome: an implosion of the ship due to some failure or crack in the hull. This considering that at a depth of 3,800 meters the water pressure is extremely high.

The theory would have come true when this Thursday an unmanned robot found pieces of the ship regarding 500 meters from the bow of the Titanic, which would prove an implosion due to “catastrophic loss of pressure.”
