The world number one in men’s tennis, Daniil Medvedev, was eliminated in the second round of the National Bank Open in Montreal, and some were not kind to the athlete when he left the court.
In a TikTok video posted by user @goldenjacksparrow, at least one person can be heard calling Medvedev a ‘loser’.
The user accompanies his extract with the following statement: “when you talk regarding losing the world number 1”.
The player immediately wanted to reply to the man, so he began the dialogue.
The one-minute extract does not allow you to hear a good part of the exchange between the two men.
However, another viewer claims the man ‘should apologize’ to Daniil Medvedev.
In the comments of the publication, many were indignant to see the treatment reserved for the Russian athlete.
“People no longer have respect for anyone,” says a user.
“We need to hear better what is [Medvedev] told him,” says another.
