The U.S. embassy says Russia has smuggled 2,389 children from Ukraine

Kyiv: The U.S. embassy on Twitter has accused the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry of “illegally removing” Ukrainian children from Russian-controlled areas of Luhansk and Donetsk. It is alleged that 2,389 children were abducted by Russian forces in Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday that Russia’s action was a serious violation of international law. “This is not aid, it’s kidnapping,” the US embassy tweeted.
Ukraine has accused Russia of smuggling children from Mariupol amid reports that Russian troops are moving civilians east of the Russian-controlled Donbass.
