[알파경제=차혜영 기자] The U.S. government is expected to indefinitely suspend regulations on the import of semiconductor equipment to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix’s Chinese factories as early as this week.

According to the industry on the 27th, the U.S. government reportedly decided to indefinitely suspend regulations on the import of American semiconductor equipment into the Chinese factories of Samsung Electronics (KS:) and SK Hynix.

It is reported that this measure will likely take the form of updating the list of ‘verified end users’ (VEUs).

The VEU system is a type of comprehensive permission method that allows export of designated items to companies approved in advance by the Ministry of Commerce. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix’s Chinese factories are already on the VEU list, so all they have to do is add the equipment list.

If this decision is made, it is expected that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix will be able to operate their factories in China.
