The Seventh Fleet of the U.S. Navy issued a statement today (27th) stating that a P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft (P-8 Poseidon) of the U.S. Navy flew over the Taiwan Strait in international airspace today. The Ministry of National Defense also confirmed this news and emphasized Our military keeps abreast of relevant developments throughout the process.

The U.S. Seventh Fleet issued a statement stating that the P-8A Poseidon patrol plane flew over the Taiwan Strait on the 27th Taiwan time, and emphasized that “the United States will continue to fly, sail and operate wherever international law allows, including within the Taiwan Strait.” It was later called a demonstration of the United States’ commitment to a “free and open Indo-Pacific region.”
