In New York, Kovid fired 1,430 municipal workers who had not been vaccinated. In addition, the New York Post reports that 36 officers, 25 firefighters and 914 employees of the New York Police Department have been fired for failing to take a single dose of Kovid Wax.
This is the largest punitive action ever taken once morest a U.S. municipal employee for failing to receive a compulsory vaccination. By the end of January, authorities had issued notices to 4,000 workers. Officials had earlier warned that stern action would be taken once morest workers who did not receive at least one dose of vaccine. Most workers who did not volunteer to receive the vaccine were on unpaid leave. The number of municipal workers was later reduced to 1,430, officials said.
Protests are raging in Western democracies once morest making vaccination compulsory. Citizens of European countries also raise questions regarding basic human rights. Even though the vaccine is mandatory, at least 9,000 workers are still working without receiving the vaccine.
According to a law introduced by former New York City Mayor Bill de Blastio, all workers in New York City must receive at least one dose of the vaccine. Now the government has announced more concessions in New York in the wake of a drop in Kovid cases.
