The Venezuelan Jiu-Jitsu Kid is Crowned World Champion in Las Vegas

At 8 years old, Ignacio Galavis @galabeast_bjjhas just made history by becoming the first Venezuelan to win a World Championship, the “ADCC Youth Championshipin Las Vegas at such a young age. His victory in this prestigious event held on August 16 at the T-Mobile Arena of said city positions it as the world number 1 In his category, a monumental achievement not only for him, but for Venezuela which now celebrates its young prodigy.

“We knew that this tournament would be the most difficult and significant of his career so far. That’s why Ignacio underwent rigorous training for three months to prepare. He trained seven days a week and sometimes even trained twice a day,” commented his father and coach Pedro “Ponchi” GalavisIgnacio trains with the American Top Team in Florida, demonstrating a dedication that goes beyond what is common for someone his age.

With an impressive career that already includes 48 gold medals and 4 silver medals in national and international tournaments, Ignacio has shown that talent, discipline and love for jiu-jitsu have no age limits.

This little warrior, known in the world of jiu-jitsu as the “Jiu-Jitsu Kid“, has broken barriers and expectations, consolidating himself as an unstoppable force in the sport.
