The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is organizing from October 10 to 14, 2023 at its Benguerir campus “The Voice of Africa”, a cycle of meetings and conferences between leading leaders, scientists and economists, which will address crucial issues such as food security, sustainable development or even entrepreneurship in Africa.
“The Voice of Africa” is an event organized on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF, aiming to highlight the challenges facing Africa before a national and international audience. The UM6P, as a global development ecosystem oriented towards knowledge, excellence, research and innovation, seizes this opportunity to bring Africa’s voice on issues crucial to the continent’s development.
This includes promoting food security through low-carbon agriculture, promoting sustainability by positioning Africa as a provider of sustainable energy solutions, as well as supporting entrepreneurship through the creation of a environment conducive to innovative entrepreneurs and by facilitating the financing necessary for their development.
In addition, the “The Voice Of Africa” program provides thematic days dedicated to the cultural and creative industries, as well as the African diaspora. This event is open not only to Annual Meeting participants, but also to the general public, whether national or international.
The event will bring together eminent personalities, including Rattan Lal, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and the World Food Prize, recognized for his research on soils and food security, Jacques Attali, renowned economist and writer, Daniel Nahon, expert in pedology, Alpha Barry, CEO of Atos Africa, and Silvia Massruhà, President of the company EMBRAPA, committed to improving agriculture and environmental sustainability.
On the occasion of this event, UM6P will open the doors to its solutions village, a platform presenting the most advanced technological innovations, in particular those having a significant impact on the African agricultural sector.
Thus, the exchanges during “The Voice of Africa” will make it possible to place African challenges on the agenda of international negotiations within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF which are being held in Marrakech from October 9 to 13. . The UM6P also aims, through these conferences, to make its contribution to discussions relating to the 2063 agenda of the African Union.
