What is likely to have happened on the Dachstein high plateau is what farmers in the inner Salzkammergut have been warning of for weeks: dozens of sheep apparently fell victim to one or more wolves. Around 30 sheep from a Ramsau pasture cooperative have been missing for days. The farmers on the Styrian south face of the Dachstein have always let their animals graze on the Upper Austrian plateau in summer.
