They were captured for extortion of carriers in San Félix

According to information from the institution, the defendants demanded money from the drivers in exchange for a work permit.

Three citizens were arrested for -allegedly- extorting carriers, demanding money to allow them to work and “not threaten their lives.”

The capture was made in the 25 de Marzo sector, San Félix, Caroní municipality.

According to the information provided by the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), those named are alleged members of the “La Grúa” gang, to which several cases of extortion are attributed in the state of Bolívar.

The National Anti-extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) would have carried out the investigations following several complaints received by the victims.

During the arrest, three cell phones and 135 thousand Bolivars were seized.

The identities of the detainees were not revealed by the authorities. The Public Ministry was already informed of the procedure and the evidence collected.
