Buenos Aires – Dominic Thiem has missed his first quarterfinals on the ATP tour in four months. The tennis pro lost 4:6,4:6 to qualifier Juan Pablo Varillas from Peru in the round of 16 of the $711,600 clay court tournament in Buenos Aires on Thursday. For the 29-year-old, it was only the second loss in 14 games at the Argentina Open, which he won in 2016 and 2018.
