“This is obviously fake news”

On the web, scam attempts are numerous. And unfortunately, bad guys know they’ll be more effective if they can pass themselves off as personalities. Latest victim to date, Elio Di Rupo.

Via his Facebook page, the Walloon Minister-President warned his community about a fake account that praises the merits of cryptocurrency. “Many of you have told me that a series of publications using my image to promote crypto-currencies have been widely disseminated on social networks for a few weeks,” warns Elio Di Rupo.

“This is obviously fake news and we should never follow up on these publications. I invite you to “report” these to Facebook. I also ask the people who relay this false information to stop as soon as possible, ”he continues.

Elio Di Rupo also specifies that he has lodged a complaint.
