Izak explained that the incident was carried out by soldiers of the Raider Infantry Battalion 300/Braja Wijaya who were on duty in mid-February in the Papua area.

“In Puncak Jaya, especially in the Ilaga area, Gome, where the crime scene (torture) occurred. We will thoroughly investigate this problem. “Whatever happens there will be material for the legal process later,” said Izak in Jakarta, Monday (25/4).

Izak explained that the acts of violence by TNI soldiers once morest Definus were only revealed following soldiers from the 300/Braja Wijaya Raider Infantry Battalion returned to their units at Kodam III/Siliwangi in early March.

“Because battalion 300 has retired from duty, it is no longer in Papua. “We made a letter of assistance for examination and currently Pomdam III/Siliwangi is carrying out examinations on those suspected of being involved in this act of violence,” he explained.

The torture was carried out by TNI soldiers who were allegedly annoyed by Definus Kogoya’s attitude in wanting to spread terror by threatening to burn down the health center in Puncak Regency. However, the terror was unsuccessful, Definus was arrested along with two of his colleagues Warinus Kogoya and Alianus Siswa.

“They will be taken to the police station at that time. “However, on the road, one person jumped out of the car, namely Warinus Kogoya, because Warinus was a DPO Puncak Police who continued to carry out several attacks in the Puncak lIlaga area, and was the perpetrator of the murder of the Omukia health center worker,” said Izak.

Due to fear, Warinus tried to run away and jumped from the car with his hands tied behind his back. So he fell and hit his head on a rock and died. Meanwhile, Definus’ fate following being tortured by soldiers and students has been handed over to the police. (Ykb/Z-7)
