Stress, questioning, anxiety: Laurie is torn between her participation in the Married at First Sight adventure and the consequences of her choices. Hesitating a few minutes before the wedding, she still said “yes” to Joel and spent a beautiful and real evening with him.
By the next morning, the euphoria of the party died down. “This morning, when I wake up, I notice that Laurie is not there.” The young woman paces around the hotel: “I hardly slept, I pondered all night. I realize that marriage is a commitment.”
“I rushed headlong and I have the backlash… I can’t do it”, she announced to her husband for a few hours. Surprised by this observation, Joël has some difficulty understanding and believing Laurie. It’s a “big slap” for him but he intends to reason with her.
