What has long been demanded by homeless assistance experts is now being implemented: over 1,000 homeless people are to receive their own apartment by September 2024. The Ministry of Social Affairs is switching to the successful Housing First model, with which Finland has halved homelessness since 2008, and is investing 6.6 million euros for this.
