University of Scranton Field Hockey Players Earn All-Region Honors

SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton field hockey team is celebrating a trio of players recognized for their outstanding performance during a historic 2025 season. Following their Landmark Conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance, three Royals earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region V honors.

Senior forward Annie Shaw secured a spot on the All-Region V First Team, capping off a remarkable career year. Shaw set personal bests wiht 19 goals and 42 points, adding four assists and five game-winning goals throughout the season. Her impressive offensive contributions placed her second in the Landmark Conference for both points and goals, spearheading a Scranton offense that led the conference in scoring. Shaw’s pivotal performance in the Landmark conference Championship game, where she scored two goals including the game-winner, led the Royals to their first conference title since 2021.

Joining Shaw with recognition are junior midfielder Maggie Keys and senior goalkeeper maclean Thuermer, both named to the All-Region V Second Team.

Keys proved to be the driving force behind Scranton’s 2025 success. The Centerport, N.Y. native achieved career highs in goals (10), assists (18), points (38), and game-winning goals (1). She broke the program record for single-season assists, leading the Landmark Conference and ranking second nationally with 18 helpers. Keys also ranked third in the conference in points and tenth in goals, contributing significantly to the team’s victories, including two goals in the Landmark Conference semifinal and an assist in the championship game.
