Malappuram: A three-year-old boy died following taking paste from a tube of rat poison and smearing it in his mouth. The deceased has been identified as Rasin Shah (3), son of Suhaila and Ansar, of Kuppanivala, Koyankulam, Chettipady, Parappanangadi. He took a tube of rat poison that he had left behind following it became useless and rubbed it in his mouth while the child was playing.

Racine, who succumbed to poisoning, was treated at a private hospital in Kottakal and later in Kozhikode for three days. He was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday morning. Burial at Kodakkad Juma Masjid Cemetery.
