Tim Merlier’s Exciting Sprint Finish: Belgian Road Champion Wins by a Narrow Margin

2023-12-04 06:00:00

The race ended in a sprint. Tim Merlier narrowly avoided a quad in the final. To win he had to almost throw his bike at the finish line.

The double Belgian road champion won down to the wire, as he confided following the finish: ” I didn’t know whether to throw my bike or just stay at the front, and I threw my bike. The finish photo showed that I won by 10 hundredths of a second.”

Two weeks ago, Merlier had already won a beach race in La Panne.
