Tinkoff Investments temporarily suspends trading in foreign securities due to sanctions

The Tinkoff Investments service will temporarily suspend trading in foreign securities due to sanctions, the broker’s press service reports.

“We are transferring foreign securities traded on the St. Petersburg Exchange to a non-sanctioned company. In order to avoid the risk of blocking, as well as to take all necessary actions for the transfer, we are temporarily suspending trading in foreign securities. Within 1-3 weeks, we plan to launch trading, – says in the official Telegram channel of Tinkoff Investments.

The press service also clarified that this decision was made in order to protect clients’ assets from potential risks.

Sanctions once morest Tinkoff Bank, Alfa-Bank and Rosbank were introduced on February 25, 2023 as part of the tenth package of EU sanctions. The restrictions include the freezing of assets of credit institutions in the EU countries, a ban on transactions with these banks, as well as their disconnection from SWIFT.

Alfa-Bank and Rosbank have been under US blocking sanctions since 2022. Tinkoff has not yet been included in any sanctions lists.
