Tonto Dikeh School Deliverance: VeryDarkMan Criticizes Actress’s Outreach

by Omar El Sayed - World Editor

A public deliverance session led by Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh at a school in an undisclosed location has drawn sharp criticism from Nigerian social media personality VeryDarkMan, who has called on the actress to refrain from conducting such events, particularly involving children.

Dikeh shared video clips on her Instagram page on March 6, 2026, detailing what she described as a spiritual encounter during an evangelism outreach. In the videos, she stated she sensed a “spirit of death” as her team prepared to leave the school and initiated a prayer session that escalated into a deliverance exercise involving students. The clips quickly went viral, sparking a debate online.

VeryDarkMan responded to the videos with a strong rebuke, urging Dikeh not to involve children in what he characterized as dramatic spiritual displays intended for online content. He also warned her to stay away from the school, noting it is located within his community. According to a post on Instagram, VeryDarkMan argued that children should not be exposed to such activities in public settings, as it could influence their understanding of life’s challenges.

“With all due respect to Tonto Dikeh … This represents a warning do not come to my area to do this again … na only poor man children good to test your powers. Leave my area kids alone,” VeryDarkMan wrote. He further suggested that public figures should focus on providing practical support to children in underserved communities, citing his own efforts to renovate parts of the school facility.

“We wish to raise kids with real life orientation not an ideology that if you don’t make it there is something following you from village. Prayers are good however without work prayers are not useful,” he added. “Take your novel content somewhere else, leave ghetto kids alone.”

The incident has ignited a wider discussion on social media, with some users expressing support for Dikeh’s religious outreach while others aligned with VeryDarkMan’s concerns about the appropriateness of public deliverance sessions for children. According to a report on Facebook, Dikeh recently dragged VeryDarkMan to a police station over an undisclosed issue, adding another layer to the escalating conflict between the two public figures.

News broke approximately one week prior to the current controversy that VeryDarkMan had been arrested by Tonto Dikeh for allegedly cyber bullying her and alleging that she co-runs the blog GistLover, which has reportedly resulted in threats to her life. As of March 11, 2026, VeryDarkMan remains unreleased, according to a post by blogger Tunde Ednut. Dikeh has responded to his arrest with posts and likes on social media, including a post with a song titled “This Girl is Dangerous” and a statement, “Don’t let the bed bugs bite.”

As of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, Tonto Dikeh has not publicly responded to VeryDarkMan’s criticism regarding the school visit.
