Dubai: Three people, including two players from India, are on the nomination list to find the best male player of the ICC for September. Indian opener Shubman Gill, pacer Mohammad Siraj and England opener David Malan have made it to the nomination list published by the ICC today.
Gill and Siraj’s performance in this year’s Asia Cup has benefited them. David Malan’s performance in the ODI series once morest New Zealand also brought him to the award.
Mohammad Siraj showed a brilliant performance by crushing Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final held in Colombo. It was Siraj who took six wickets to restrict Lanka to within 50 runs. With his performance in the Asia Cup, Siraj rose to the number one position in the world rankings.
Shubman Gill, who is currently undergoing treatment for dengue fever in Chennai, was in good form including in the Asia Cup. This is the second time that Gill, who has scored more than 1,000 runs and four centuries in ODI cricket in 2023, has been shortlisted for the award. Gill had achieved this feat in January this year.
