In a statement, Al-Tayyar denied this news, stressing that “Bassil did not request any appointment from Geagea, and if such a request is made, it will be announced and will not be ‘under the table’, as is the custom among some.”
Chidiac had indicated that “Bassil asked for an appointment from Geagea, but he did not give it, because these dialogues are of no benefit, and enshrining customs violates the constitution.”
