(CercleFinance.com) – TotalEnergies and its partners announce today that they have signed production sharing contracts for Blocks 6 and 8 with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname (Staatsolie), the national utility of Suriname.

Blocks 6 and 8 have been awarded to TotalEnergies under the 2020/2021 conventional offshore tender. TotalEnergies will operate the two blocks with a 40% stake, alongside QatarEnergy (20%) and Paradise Oil Company (POC) (40%), a subsidiary of Staatsolie.

Located south of the Suriname offshore domain near the border with Guyana, at depths between 30 and 50 meters, blocks 6 and 8 adjoin block 58 where several discoveries have been made and where appraisal drilling is in progress. course.
