Compared to last year, Visma-Lease a Bike’s Tour de France is a failure. From 15 days in yellow to none; from winning the Tour in both the individual and team general classifications to not winning it at all. However, compared to the expectations of a month ago, when it was not known whether Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert would be able to race and they had lost key members such as Sepp Kuss, Dylan van Baarle or Steven Kruijswijk due to physical problems, it is quite a success to go home with the Dane’s victory in Le Lioran and his second place on the podium in Nice.
