Tour of Oman: Vansevenant wins at the top of Green Mountain but misses the final victory by a second

Mauri Vansevenant won the fifth and final stage of the Tour of Oman. The Soudal-Quick Step runner won at the top of Green Mountain. He came very close to getting a double hit, but he finally lacked a small second to grab the final classification.

Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar) got caught in the wheel of our compatriot. He concedes four seconds following the game of bonuses. But he managed to avoid “the break” which might have cost him the red jersey. The American put his name on the winners of the event and succeeds Jan Hirt.

Maxim Van Gils (6e, Lotto-Dstny) and Cian Uijtdebroeks (9, Bora-Hansgrohe) also finished in the Top 10.

At 23, Jorgenson scored his first success in a stage race. The rider from Walnut Creek had opened his counter with the pros during the third stage.
