This meeting, which is part of the strengthening of cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Guinea, was an opportunity to discuss opportunities and prospects for cooperation in the fields of electricity and drinking water between the two countries.

During this meeting, El Hafidi recalled the cooperation projects successfully carried out by ONEE in Guinea in the fields of electricity, drinking water and liquid sanitation. For his part, Ibrahima Abé Sylla, welcomed this Moroccan-Guinean cooperation, describing it as fruitful while expressing his wish to further strengthen this cooperation both in the field of electricity and drinking water.

Thus, in terms of drinking water, the Guinean Minister asked ONEE to support the Société des Eaux de Guinée (SEG) in several areas, including the production of drinking water as well as related commercial activities. to water services.

With regard to the field of electricity, Ibrahima Abé Sylla called for the strengthening of this cooperation through the realization by ONEE of a global diagnostic study of the electricity system of the Republic of Guinea with the aim of restructuring Electricité de Guinée (EDG), the company responsible for providing the public electricity service in Guinea.

At the end of this meeting, it was agreed to capitalize on the successful experiences of ONEE for the sharing of its experience and know-how and to solicit donors, in particular the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) to support cooperation actions with Guinea both in the field of water and electricity.
