Tragedy in Hong Kong: The Mysterious Death of Rémi Enigma – Uncovering the Circumstances

Rémi Lucidi, known as Rémi Enigma on social networks and originally from Montpellier, died in Hong Kong on Thursday July 27 following falling from a 220-meter high building. The circumstances of this tragedy are still unclear.

He took risks, but calculated ones. In any case, this is what the relatives of Rémi Enigma, an extreme urban climber, have assured since the announcement of his fatal fall from the top of a 220 m building in Hong Kong.

And this is once more what a friend of the man who in civilian life was called Rémi Lucidi said, interviewed this Saturday by the English tabloid The Mirror. While an investigation is still underway to determine the circumstances of the tragedy, Dakamaru, also an extreme climber, assures that Rémi Enigma did not “only” slip.

“When you reach a certain level of skill, you don’t just slip and fall. It’s not possible, he believes. According to a witness, Remi was stuck on the other side of a window . It must have been a place where he mightn’t maneuver. He must have spent enough time there to get tired and mightn’t stand there any longer.”

“You inevitably end up getting tired”

According to the first elements, the native of Montpellier had set himself the challenge of reaching the top of the Tregunter tower in order to post images of his feat on social networks, in particular on Instagram. But he would have obviously remained stuck outside the building, as asserted by a cleaning lady who explains that she saw him tapping in vain on the windows before falling without anyone having had time to help him.

A scene that Dakamu relives with pain in the columns of the British daily: “The witness said he was at the window knocking, probably on a thin edge outside the building, with little space to move . He probably had no way to sit, turn, crouch or change position. And no matter how fit you are in such conditions, you’re bound to get tired eventually.”
