At least 18 Mexican tourists died and some 25 others were injured overnight from Saturday to Sunday in a bus accident in northwestern Mexico, a local official told AFP on Sunday.
“There was an accident involving a bus belonging to a private company that was transporting tourists from Guadalajara, Jalisco state, (west) to Guayabitos”, in the state of Nayarit, a tourist destination known for its beaches on the Pacific , reported Pedro Nunez, the local fire chief.
An investigation has been opened to determine the reasons for the fall of the bus in a ravine and the identification of the victims, all “national tourists”, he said.
