The renowned drummer Roberto Briceño “Robertico” lost his life this Sunday, August 6, in a spectacular traffic accident, which occurred on Santa Rita avenue with Dr. Portillo de Maracaibo, Zulia state.
A sedan-type car and a gray Tacoma truck, the latter assigned to regional government officials, were the protagonists of this unfortunate vehicle collision, which left one deceased.
The causes of this incident and the precise number of injured are unknown.
Presumably Briceño, who was on board the truck, suffered a strong impact on his head and his body remained on the pavement, while police authorities guarded the area of the accident waiting for CICPC officials.

Briceño was a prominent drummer who was part of various bagpipe groups, including El Tren Gaitero and currently worked as a member of the Gaiteros a la Carta ensemble and instructor of the Foundation for the Ricardo Aguirre Academy of Zulia (Fundagraez).
