A terrible accident occurred in Gozée (Thuin), on the N53 – rue de Bomerée, this Monday morning. Around 9:30 a.m., a woman was going to the emergency vet for her dog, when she probably felt unwell. His vehicle swerved to the right and hit a tree head-on.
The ACF Motors convenience store, who happened to be passing by, stopped to call for help, while another passing motorist picked up the dog to take him to the vet. According to our information, the dog would unfortunately have died.
For the driver, stuck in her vehicle, an ambulance and an SMUR set off from the Vésale hospital, while the firefighters from the Hainaut-Est rescue zone, Marcinelle and Thuin barracks, went to the scene under the orders of Lieutenant Francotte. Extricated, the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The N53 was closed to traffic for a good hour, to let the emergency services intervene.
