A driver lost his life in a head-on collision with a truck on Monday at the end of the day on rue de Beaumont (N53) in Thuillies (Thuin, province of Hainaut), the emergency services said.
Two other people were taken to hospital.
The accident involving a truck and a car happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. For some unknown reason, the car swerved to its left and hit the front of the truck. Firefighters from the Hainaut-Est rescue zone intervened on the spot to extricate the two people trapped in the car. The driver of the vehicle, 20, was killed instantly. The passenger in the vehicle and the driver of the truck were taken to hospital. The passenger is a young woman who is 8 months pregnant.
