Last week, a one-year-old baby died in New York following allegedly being exposed to fentanyl in the daycare he was in, CNN reported. Three other children were hospitalized.
During the search, investigators discovered a trapdoor leading to a hidden room beneath where the children were sleeping. In it, ten kilos of drugs, including fentanyl, were found.
The managers of the crèche, suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, were notably responsible for mixing the drugs with baby powder. Two of them were arrested.
Charged with criminal conspiracy to distribute drugs resulting in death, they risk life in prison.
