Tragic Death of Belgian Tourist in Cinque Terre: Emergency Response and Important Reminders

At the age of 78, a Belgian tourist died suddenly on Saturday evening, while she was in the famous Cinque Terre, in Italy. Local media report that the victim was going to the restaurant, where her son was waiting, when she collapsed in the street.

Witnesses quickly alerted the emergency services. Arriving on the scene, they attempted to resuscitate the victim, without success. His body was immediately transferred to the La Spezia morgue.

According to the Italian newspaper The 19th Century, the witnesses first tried to contact the village medical service which was difficult to reach at that time. The authorities remind that, in this type of situation, you should always call the emergency number 112 immediately.
