Thaliparam (Kannur) ∙ K SEB contract employee died following being beaten up by his colleagues at his residence.
Biju (47), son of Lona and Elikutty, died at Kalliathupparam, Kurinjipadam, Vellikulangara, Thrissur. The police arrested V. Nawaz (42) of Kollam Decent Mukki and S. Sunilkumar (50) of Dhavalakuzhi, Kollam Mayanad, who live with him. They are contract employees of KSEB Mayil Section.
Biju was found lying near their house at Kannapilau Kolthuruthi near Parasshinikadu on Tuesday morning. Those who were with him said that he fell from the building. Pariyaram was rushed to the Govt. Medical College Hospital but might not be saved.
However, the post mortem revealed that the cause of death was severe head injury and it was not caused by a fall. It was also found that he was beaten on the head with an iron wire. Then the incident came to light when 3 colleagues who stayed with Biju were taken into custody and interrogated.
They had an argument with Biju while they were drinking at their residence at night and Nawaz and Sunil joined forces and beat Biju. Biju, who was injured and fell down, was not noticed for a long time. He then died of bleeding.
