A prominent oncologist and her baby have been found dead at their New York home in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
Police believe Krystal Cascetta, 40, entered her child’s bedroom and opened fire on the infant before turning the gun on herself.
Dr. Cascetta was a respected cancer specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital in New Yorkreports Mirror.

The tragedy allegedly took place at 7 a.m. at the family home in Somers, a town of 21,000 people in New York State.
Detectives described the injuries as “consistent with murder/suicide,” the New York Bureau of Criminal Investigations said.

The oncologist leaves behind her husband Tim Talty, whom she married in 2019.
The child’s age and gender were not disclosed.
