A young Senegalese named Djine Niang, living in Touba, was shot and killed on Saturday in the city of Atlanta while he was with his Senegalese friends in front of the Social Security Offices.

The assassin, who was accompanied by his girlfriend, lowered the window of his vehicle before opening fire on the Senegalese who saw nothing coming. He died instantly, according to one of the friends who said they had never seen the shooter before.

“The owner of a restaurant chain who wants to hire us in one of his restaurants has arranged to meet us in front of the Social Security offices to find us papers. It was while waiting for him that this man who came out of these offices with his partner lowered the window of his car and shot Djine,” said one of the friends of the victim who witnessed the tragic scene.

According to him, they do not know the shooter and had no history with him. The young Senegalese and his friends recently entered the United States via Nicaragua.
