South America: Small plane crashes in Brazil, seven dead
A small single-engine plane crashed in a rural area of Minas Gerais state in southeastern Brazil on Sunday.

Seven people died on Sunday following the small plane they were traveling in crashed in a rural area of Brazil’s southeastern state of Minas Gerais, authorities said.
“Seven people (who were on board) were found dead,” they indicated in their latest bulletin, following initially reporting the discovery of three bodies among the debris of the aircraft.
Images taken by locals, showing the wreckage of the plane shortly following it fell onto a hill covered with grass and trees, circulated on social media and in Brazilian media.
Heavy rain fell in the morning in the area where the tragedy occurred. Experts from the State Civil Police are still working at the site to try to establish the causes of the accident, as well as personnel from the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa).
