A person died following being stabbed in Namur during the night from Friday to Saturday, reports the Namur public prosecutor’s office. The person was hit around 1 a.m. in the city center, during the Wallonia festivals which are taking place this weekend in the capital.
According to the mayor of Namur Maxime Prévôt (LE), it was in a fight which degenerated between two young people. The victim was 19 years old. The suspect, another young man, was apprehended. The investigation will have to clarify the circumstances of the attack and an autopsy is planned, confirmed the prosecution.
