A 27-year-old cyclist died in a Zurich hospital on Saturday morning following a collision with a tram the day before, Zurich police said. This is the third fatal accident involving a tram in less than a week in the city on the banks of the Limmat.
The young cyclist collided with a tram on Friday evening in the industrial district (Kreis 5). Thrown to the ground, he was taken seriously injured to hospital, Zurich police informed Friday.
During the same evening, a pedestrian died following finding himself under a tram traveling between the “Central” stop and the station square. Dispatched to the scene, firefighters lifted the frame to free the victim who succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.
Already on Monday evening, a tram accident claimed the life of a pedestrian in Zurich. Taken to hospital in critical condition, the 56-year-old woman died from her injuries the next day.
