Barcelona, in turn, said in a brief press statement that it and “Al-Ahly” had reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Frank Kessier for 12.5 million euros, without disclosing the duration of the contract.
The Ivorian star became the club’s fifth deal during the current summer transfer period, following signing Senegalese Edouard Mendy, Brazilian Roberto Firmino, Algerian Riyad Mahrez, and Frenchman Alain Saint-Maximin.
Kessier, who started his career with the Italian junior team Atalanta, played for Stella Club Ivory Coast, Atalanta, Siena and Milan in Italy, and finally Barcelona.
Kessier joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022 on a four-season contract, and managed to win the La Liga title with him last season. He also won the Italian league title with AC Milan.
