Travel and Covid: in these three European countries, you still have to show proof of vaccination or a negative test

One of the reasons for this recovery is that almost all countries have lifted travel restrictions. Almost all… but not all. Three European countries have indeed maintained conditions of access to their territory for travelers from the Schengen area:

France

It is unlikely that you will be asked for them if you are traveling by car, but if you are going by train or plane, be aware that France continues to require two documents:

Validity :

— between 7 days and 9 months following the first series of vaccination with Comirnaty (BioNTech and Pfizer), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) or following the booster dose.

— between 28 days and 9 months following administration of Jcovden (Covid-19 Vaccine Janssen), or following the booster dose.
— for children under 18, the primary vaccination series is valid indefinitely.
— 7 days following the booster dose, for people who have completed the primary vaccination series with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization but not authorized in the European Union (see the full list of authorized vaccines once morest COVID-19).
— 7 days following receiving a dose of vaccine for people who have recovered from COVID-19

Or

  • proof of recovery from COVID-19. Validity: between 11 and 180 days.

Or

  • a negative pre-departure test result. Accepted tests: molecular test (PCR), valid for 72 hours, and rapid antigen test, valid for 48 hours.
