The seismic activity is due to the shock and friction of the tectonic plates that cover territories such as Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Colima, Jalisco, southern Veracruz, Tlaxcala, Morelos, Puebla, Nuevo León, Sonora, Baja California and the State from Mexico.
